Calgary Cardinals Baseball Club

We are an elite Baseball program that teaches players to respect the game, work hard, and play hard.

Purpose: With a love for the game of baseball and a passion to see kids excel in the sport, the Calgary Cardinals Baseball Club was formed to create a competitive and affordable baseball program for the youth in Calgary and the surrounding areas.

Accomplishments: The Calgary Cardinals Baseball Club has successfully

  • Won a Western Canadian Championship

  • Won 10 Provincial Championships

  • Placed 13 players in college ball across the US since establishing the program in 2018

    Our mission is to provide opportunities and exposure while competing at the highest levels in youth baseball; instilling discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, honesty and integrity.

    At the Calgary Cardinals Baseball Club, we believe in more than just building great ball players—we're committed to shaping strong, resilient individuals. Our program emphasizes the value of consistent hard work, teamwork, and personal growth. We challenge players to push each other to new heights, to lift one another up during tough times, and to build confidence from within. Baseball is a game of adversity, and through that adversity, character is forged. By immersing our athletes in highly competitive situations, we help them develop skills and character that will serve them not just on the field, but in every aspect of their lives.

  • Players

    The Calgary Cardinals Baseball Club is a competitive program, open to players in U11, U13, U15, and U18. Players try out for their chance to join the Cardinals team, tryout times are posted in the Registration section. Cardinals also offers Winter Training and Fall Ball for player development.

    Eligible players are within the boundaries of Calgary and the surrounding area.

What started in 2018 with one team, has now flourished into six teams and multiple provincial titles for the Calgary Cardinals Baseball Club.

    With a love for the game of baseball and a passion to see kids excel at the sport. John Zwicker embarked on a journey to create a competitive and affordable Baseball program for youth in Calgary.


  • President

    Ryan has been instrumental in shaping the Cardinals program since its early days, bringing both a passion for the game and a commitment to helping young athletes thrive. With over two decades of coaching experience—starting at age 16—Ryan’s leadership has fueled the growth and success of the program. As an NCCP-certified coach, he is driven by a love of baseball and a dedication to inspiring that same passion in players, guiding them to excel on and off the field. Under Ryan’s leadership, the Cardinals continue to grow as a premier development program for young athletes.
